Dead Driveway

|
Brief: Dead Driveway is a side scrolling driving game where takes the control of a lone survivor during zombie apocalyptic era. Players are only being armed with a vehicle that they can modify and enhance to reach the end of the trail and leave the place for good.
Under the hood infos: The core loop of the game involves the player to drive, earn money and upgrade the car. The better a player plays the game, the better will be the earning and thus they can invest in upgrading better parts for their car. A stint of micromanagement increases replaybility of the game. The post apocalyptic environment is pictured through the dying trees and collapsed buildings.
Initial idea of the game involved in making a side scrolling physics based game where a player will control a car to move from point A to B. Then it gradually evolved to such an extent where the player will also be able to customize their vehicle: only the maximum speed, tyre size and tyre friction. Later on the development cycle, more customizable options were added that greatly enhanced the car which included: fuel limit, turbo boost, weight of the car and many more. This resulted in not only giving a whole array of options to the player but also increased the gameplay time. It was a great step since flash games generally have very less retention time.
Thus, after a full month of continuous development, the final game as Dead Driveway was released and sponsored by silvergames.com.
